Day 143

So many house-related things have happened in the last eight days that I barely know where to begin.

For starters, the windows were installed:

Next up was a walk-through of our electrical plan. I participated in the mark-up but had to miss the actual walk-through because of a rescheduled meeting. The Husband was not pleased to have to do this part solo, but honestly, he cares way more about electrical outlets than I do (and that is saying something, because I do care).

Here’s what a house with a whole bunch of exposed wiring looks like:

Recessed ceiling lights were also added throughout the house.

Yesterday, Daughter #2 and I swung by the house midafternoon to find it shingled, papered, and lathed (a word I just learned; its basically wire mesh that precedes stucco application).

Anyhow, this was the big excitement for like one hot moment before we discovered that this beauty was installed:

We are currently, inexplicably, missing windows for two rooms at the moment (the kitchen and the downstairs bathroom). They were supposed to arrive two days ago and aren’t on site yet and I frankly haven’t had it in me to ask. Once those are in place, the house should be all ready for the rainy season to come.
