60(ish) Days to Go
I am rapidly approaching wake-me-up-when-it’s-all-over territory.
The scaffolding came down today. It looks like the rest of the exterior painting will be done with ladders.
Here’s my confession: I don’t love my paint choices. And I’m really frustrated about this, because I put a lot of time and thought into the process. I think I like the main color (mostly, and very dependent on time of day), and I (generally) like the black trim around the windows, but I somehow don’t like them together, if that makes sense.
I kind of hate how much it guts me when a choice I’ve made doesn’t quite work out, but then I remind myself that I’ve upended my entire life for this house. (This does not make me feel any better, by the way.)
The floors are almost all installed, with the exception of the living room. It looks like additional prep work needs to be done in that room because of the concrete slab. Once that’s done, I believe we still have another few weeks of sanding and finishing ahead of us. After that, the interior painting and the rest of the tile will be done before one final sanding and finishing round. I think the next month or so will involve lots of slow, steady progress instead of big daily reveals (which are obviously my favorite).
Finishing samples. We’re going with the Bona Traffic HD.
Meanwhile, the city decided we need a new driveway apron to go with our new driveway, which will add unanticipated expenses (my least favorite kind).
