Day 237
This week the Husband and I took a field trip to Gilroy to visit our cabinets before they head to the finishing department.
The cabinets are a bit behind schedule. They won’t hit the finishing department until the middle of next week, at the earliest. Once there it will be another two weeks until they are fully dried and ready to be delivered. Unfortunately, some of the cabinets need to be in place before certain tiling can be done (all bathroom floors, the kitchen walls, and the rest of the laundry wall). The upside of all of this is that tiling is definitely a slow process, and I think there’s plenty to do in the meantime.
Last Friday, we noticed that the blue tile in the Girls’ Bath appears to be veering off on the left side. Upon closer inspection, we all realized that the problem was the wall with the white tile. Something appears to have gone wonky with the sheetrock/mudding in the upper section, so they are going to demo this one bit in order to fix the issue:
Meanwhile, the stucco brown coat has been cookin’ for the last 18 days.
Not sure what’s on the agenda for this week, since the cabinet situation has sort of upended the schedule that we have. On Friday, Daughter #2’s secret bookcase door was picked up from our rental house. Looking forward to seeing that installed soon.
